The 'Call The Shots' singer says the dancing competition has made her consider return to the stage.

Girls Aloud's Kimberley Walsh has hinted that she could return to musical theatre following her appearance on Strictly Come Dancing.

The 'Something New' singer, who has previously starred in Shrek: The Musical, came runner up to Olympic gymnast Louis Smith in the final at the weekend.

She recently reunited with Girls Aloud and is currently preparing to release her debut solo album – a collection of songs from musical theatre given a contemporary twist.

"I've always loved musical theatre but Shrek unleashed the passion in me again," she told The Sun. "I do really feel like a lot of the things I've learned on Strictly Come Dancing will come in handy.

"I would definitely consider being in the West End more in the future."

Kimberley added that she hoped her new album 'Centre Stage' will be a "success" and promised to be "fighting fit" for Girls Aloud's reunion tour in 2013.

The album is released in February next year.
