The 'Sound Of The Underground' stars have been referred to as "the less glamorous side of the McQueen family."
Girls Aloud are wanted for a cameo in the hit Channel 4 student soap Hollyoaks by the show's executive producer Brian Kirkwood.
The 'Something New' singers were compared to the McQueen family by the boss of the series who said actress Jennifer Metcalfe is a "dead ringer" for Kimberley Walsh.
"Girls Aloud could be the "less glamorous side of the McQueen family," he told Soap magazine. "I remember when we first cast Jennifer Metcalfe as Mercedes McQueen and everyone said she was a dead ringer for Kimberley Walsh, so that could be quite fun."
The band are currently preparing to make their comeback on a tenth anniversary reunion arena tour next year and will released their greatest hits compilation 'Ten' this week.
Bandmember Kimberley Walsh recently revealed how she is training for 14 hours a day as she juggles rehearsals and her duties on reality show Strictly Come Dancing.

The 'Long Hot Summer' singers will also be back at London's O2 Arena next month when they perform at the Jingle Bell Ball.
The event takes place across two days on 8th and 9th December and will also see performances by the likes of Bruno Mars, The Wanted and One Direction.
Cheryl Cole will also be appearing for a solo set alongside such stars as Rizzle Kicks, Calvin Harris and Conor Maynard.
