The 'Read All About It' singer is eying a possible duet with the indie band frontman.
Emeli Sande says she is hoping to collaborate with Coldplay singer Chris Martin sometime in the future.
Last week it was announced that Emeli will support the band for six dates of their 'Mylo Xyloto' tour this December, and the 'Heaven' singer says she is a big fan of the Coldplay frontman.
"I'm hoping to hook up with John Legend soon," Emeli told The Sun. "And of course working with Chris Martin would be a dream come true.
"He's one of the best writers of our generation."
Emeli also says she has been surprised by how varied her fan base has become since featuring on Professor Green's UK number one single 'Read All About It'.
"Working with Stephen I've noticed younger fans, even kids," Emeli noted. "When you write for Susan Boyle and go on Jools [Holland] you expect an older audience.
"But I want to reach everyone and cover different audiences. I'm not cool. I don't fit into any genre.
Emeli's second single 'Daddy' is due for release on 27th November while debut album 'Our Version Of Events' is expected on 6th February, 2012.
