The N-Dubz rapper has also revealed how he got legendary guitarist Brian May to feature on his new single.
Dappy has revealed he hopes to head out on his first arena tour later this year following the release of his debut album.
The 'No Regrets' rapper unveiled the music video for his new song 'Rockstar' yesterday (18th January), featuring Queen's Brian May, and has now revealed how the collaboration came about.
"Brian bigged me up for my last single and said I should win an Ivor Novello for lyrics," Dappy explained to the Daily Star. "So I got his email and contacted him.
"He told me: 'You are a very different artist and unique, so carry on doing what you're doing. There's nobody else challenging you'.
After admitted that he is hoping for a second number one single with 'Rockstar', the N-Dubz rapper also revealed his plans for the rest of 2012.
He added: "Then I want to hit the arenas. This is different from N-Dubz. What I'm doing is more mature."
Dappy will release new single 'Rockstar' on 26th February while debut album 'No Regrets' will follow in May or June.
