Liam Payne is being called out for his "biphobic" Both Ways lyrics

Liam Payne Is Over Party began trending online after he was also criticised for making "biphobic" Harry Styles comments.

Liam Payne has come under fire for his 'Both Ways' lyrics and some remarks he made about Harry Styles in an old interview.

Liam Payne may have made headlines for some nude photoshoots recently but the One Direction singer is also breaking the internet with his new music. Last week (Dec 6), Liam released his debut solo album LP1. After two years of anticipation, the 26-year-old released a collection of 17 songs, featuring collaborations with artists including Rita Ora, J Balvin and Quavo.

For the most part, fans are pleased with the new project but people are taking issue with one song in particular on LP1. Liam is being called out for fetishising bisexual women in his 'Both Ways' lyrics (and some old Harry Styles comments which have resurfaced online). In fact, the backlash is so huge that Liam Payne Is Over Party began trending online.

What does Liam Payne sing in his 'Both Ways' lyrics?

'Both Ways' is a song about Liam dating a girl who is bisexual and enjoys having threesomes with Liam and another woman. In the refrain, Liam sings: "Lovin' the way that she's turning you on / Switching the lanes like a Bugatti Sport / Nothing but luck that she got me involved, yeah / Flipping that body, go head, I go tails / Sharing that body like it's our last meal".

Fans immediately took issue with the way in which the songs "fetishises bisexual women". One person tweeted: "please if you support liam payne and his song ‘both ways’ get the FUCK away from me." They went on: "that song sexualizes my sexuality to a MAXIMUM. i feel so uncomfortable and disgusted. #liampayneisoverparty".

Liam Payne Is Over Party then started trending. Harry Styles fans also brought attention to a 2017 interview with Capital in which Liam said he wouldn't let Harry babysit his child. Liam said: "I couldn't rely on Harry 'cos I feel like my child would come out dressed in something that I just wouldn't understand.

People then started accusing Liam of being "biphobic" as thousands of fans weighed in on the 'Both Ways' lyrics and his comments about Harry.

As it stands, Liam hasn't responded to the backlash. We shall update you if he does.
