Hayley Williams defended Billie Eilish after Billie said that the hate she gets on Instagram is "ruining her life".
Hayley Williams has defended Billie Eilish after the 18-year-old said that she's been subject to trolling on social media.
It's no secret that Hayley Williams and Billie Eilish are huge fans of each other. Following the 2020 Grammys, Hayley praised Billie by tweeting: "Not able to watch tonight but I had to search the internet for this performance cause I knew this bish was gonna serve talent and delicious, buttery vox." Billie also told GOAT that she loves Hayley and called her a "fucking God".

Now, Hayley has taken to Twitter to stick up for Billie after Billie said that people have been mean to her on Instagram.
In a recent interview, Billie opened up about her struggles with Instagram and the internet at large. She explained: "I stopped reading comments fully 'cause it was ruining my life once again. It's weird, the cooler the things you get to do are, the more people hate you. It's crazy. It's way worse than it's ever been right now."
She then continued: "I mean it's insane that I've even been reading comments up until this point. I should have stopped long ago. The problem is I've always wanted to stay in touch with the fans and keep talking to them and people have ruined that for me and for them. The internet is ruining my life so I turned it off."
In response to the interview, Hayley supportively tweeted in her defence. Last night (18 Feb), she wrote: "who's been mean to Billie on the internet i will absolutely beat somebody’s ass all the way up [sic]."
Hayley has since deleted the tweet but it goes without saying that people need to be kinder on social media. Billie should be able to use Instagram and engage with her fans without getting hate.
