There's Now So Much 'Evidence' For The 'Avril Lavigne Has Been Dead For 13 Years' Theory That We're Kinda Starting To Believe It

Apparently 'current Avril' is an imposter.

Remember Avril Lavigne?

Well, apparently she's had us all fooled for the last 13 years because rumour has it the Canadian singer has been dead for more than a decade.

Yes, you really did read that correctly.

Some conspiracists are saying that Avril died in 2003, just after her first album ‘Let Go’ was released and has since been replaced by a lookalike. A blog post, originating in Brazil has gone into an excruciating amount of detail by looking at the differences between the ‘old’ Avril and the ‘new’ Avril and has attributed the main differences to height, voice, nose and freckles. 

The person who has been hired to be her lookalike is called Melissa Vandella and rumour has it, it’s her that has released singles, ‘My Happy Ending’, ‘Girlfriend’ and ‘Here’s To Never Growing Up.

Evidence? Well, there’s a distinct lack of that but here it goes.

The theory goes that after the release of her 2002 debut album, she couldn’t handle the pressures that came with her new found fame and so she hired a body double called Melissa.  

When she began working on her second album, the theory states that Avril fell into a state of depression and was later found dead at her home by her record label. 

Her label then, reportedly, continued to use Melissa, pretending that she was the real Avril and apparently she has since leaked details of the death via lyrics, promotional materials and clothing.

The Freckles.

Because apparently in 2002, Avril was 1.58m whereas now she is 1.55m which they claim as “impossible”.

Her Singing Voice.

And as for the voice… well, apparently Avril’s double is a “soprano”. 

The Autograph.

Apparently the Avril of today’s autograph is also different… because people never change their signatures as they grow up.
