After spending the weekend hunting a man accused of trying to murder his girlfriend, police say they’ve made an arrest.
Police have been hunting 28 year old Michael Bennison, since a 27 year old woman was found stabbed at a house on Healey Grove, Huntington, York, on Friday.
She suffered multiple wounds, including a punctured lung, and is in a stable condition in hospital.
Bennison was arrested in the Huntington area of York at around 7pm last night, he is currently in police custody.
Detective Inspector Shaun Page, of North Yorkshire Police, said: "I would like to convey my thanks to the media and the many members of the public who have contributed to the search and helped us to locate Bennison."
