Three Remanded Over Barnsley Student Attack

Three people have appeared in court charged with attacking a Barnsley student, who was found critically injured in a ditch in Manchester
26 year old Michael Brownlie, 21 year old Nicholas Lindsay, and 18 year old Katie Mongan, all from Longsight appeared at Manchester City Magistrates' Court.
They are accused of the attempted murder of 19 year old Daniel Whiteley, from Barnsley.
The three are due to next appear on court on 19 March.
Mr Whiteley, a first-year English student at the University of Manchester, was found in Platt Fields Park in Manchester on Tuesday.
He is still in a critical but stable condition in hospital.
