A head-on crash in Sheffield has left a man and woman with life-threatening injuries.
It happened around 9pm last night on Gleadless Road when a blue Honda Civic, driven by a 21-year-old man swerved to avoid a fox or dog that ran into the road near to the junction with Buck Wood View.
The Honda swerved into the path of a red Vauxhall Astra coming in the opposite direction, from Gleadless towards Newfield Green. The animal ran off into nearby houses.
The blue Honda left the road and ended up on a grassed area.
The driver of the Honda had minor injuries but his two passengers, a 20-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman suffered life-threatening injuries and are both being treated in Northern General Hospital.
The 31-year-old male driver of the Astra had whiplash.
