Police say they are waiting on post-mortem results to help identify a body found in the Humber Estuary at the weekend.

The unidentified body was spotted on Saturday between Brough Haven and Gilberdyke in East Yorkshire, by two people in a yacht.

The family of 21-year-old Stuart Gilson, who went missing after a night out in Hull in January, have been told about the discovery.

Family and friends left tributes to him on Drypool Bridge, where he was last seen on CCTV

Humberside Police said personal property and tattoos found on the body matched those of Mr Gilson.

Hundreds of people took part in unofficial searches for Mr Gilson, which were organised on Facebook.
