Pontefract Man Charged With Child Sex Assault

A cruise ship worker from Pontefract has been charged with sexually assaulting a child and owning indecent images of children, whilst he worked at the cruise ship company Cunard.

34 year old Paul Michael Trotter, from Pontefract in West Yorkshire has been charged with possessing indecent images of children and sexual assault of a child aged under 13  between December 20th 2010 and January 5th  2011.

This was whilst working for Cunard as a supervisor for a children's activity area.

Trotter appeared at Chippenham Magistrates Court yesterday and was remanded in custody. He is next due to appear on 16th February via video link at Swindon Magistrates Court.

Trotter was initially arrested on suspicion of making, possessing and distribution of indecent images on 12 August 2011.

He is no longer an employee at Cunard, who owns ships like the Queen Elizabeth and Queen Mary 2.

Wiltshire police are contacting all of the parents they need to speak to for their investigation.
