Pontefract Couple In Court Charged With Baby Murder

A couple have appeared before magistrates charged with murder following the death of a seven week old baby girl in Wakefield.

A man and a woman from West Yorkshire have appeared in court charged with the murder of their seven-week-old baby girl.

18 year old Jessica Hopkinson and 28 year old Lee Davison from Ashleigh Avenue in Pontefract appeared before Pontefract magistrates charged with the murder of Krystal Davison. 

Krystal died from injuries at Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield in the early hours of Friday. 

Officers were called to the hospital on Thursday after the girl was brought in by ambulance from an address in Ashleigh Avenue with serious injuries. 

The couple will next appear at Leeds Crown Court on April 18.
