Man Arrested After Dog Tortured In Sheffield

A man has been questioned by policed in Sheffield after a dog was tortured, tied to a tree and then burned to death.
The 28 year old who was arrested yesterday has now been bailed while the inquiry continues.
The light coloured Staffordshire Bull Terrier was attacked, severely beaten and then set alight in some time between last Monday Feb 18th and Feb 24th in the Skye Edge area.
A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said:
"Sometime between Monday February 18 and Sunday February 24 on a path off Manor Laith Road, near to the allotments, a light coloured Staffordshire Bull Terrier male dog is believed to have been severely beaten, before reportedly being tied to a tree and set on fire."
Police also told Capital the animal will have "suffered terribly" before it died.
