Leeds Named Top Night Out

Leeds has come sixth in a new poll by Trip Advisor trying to find the best night out in the UK.

Liverpool and Manchester are the best nightlife places in the UK, reviews on the website of TripAdvisor showed.

Only two of the top 10 in the nightlife list were southern England destinations.

London was in third position, with Brighton fifth in a list that also included Glasgow, Leeds, Cardiff, Belfast, Blackpool and Edinburgh.

TripAdvisor added: "Despite being world-renowned for its extensive club scene, endless pubs and great bars, London was beaten by the lively north in the nightlife stakes.

To be named Britain's third-best nightlife destination is an impressive finish, but lovers of London may have expected it to be placed higher.''
