Police are appealing for the family of a small child found in a pram on Southcoates Lane in Hull this morning to contact them.
Police were called at around 3.30 this morning (Saturday 24 September) by a member of the public who found a pram unattended with a child inside.
The baby girl, thought to be aged between 12 to 18 months old, was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary to be examined and is now safe and well in the care of the local authority.
It is not known at this stage how long the child had been there and police are carrying out a number of enquiries in the local area.
Investigations are on going to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident and to identify the baby and her mum
Police are concerned for the welfare of the mum of the child and would ask anyone who knows her or for the mum herself to contact police as a matter of urgency.
