Appeal For Help Catching Sheffield Hit And Run Driver

A Sheffield dad's hoping a fresh appeal will help find the driver who knocked down his little girl.

The three year old was left with a severely broken leg following the accident in Fir Vale on the 29th April.

It happened at 11.20pm at or near the junction of Crabtree Close and Hampton Road.

She was treated at Sheffield Children't Hospital but is now recovering at home, her dad Ansar Hussein says she's still bed bound adding that the accident has had a massive effect on his whole family.

PC Mark Bradey said: 'Local enquiries and CCTV images have failed to identify the car and its driver. We’ve so far not managed to confirm the make or model of the vehicle, which we believe fled the scene at high speed without stopping.

'Any information about the car or its driver could be vital for our investigation. I’m particularly keen to hear from members of the local Fir Vale community who may have witnessed the collision or seen a medium sized, dark coloured car, possibly a black or green hatchback, in the area late that Friday evening.'
