Man Charged With Woman's Murder

A 54-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a woman found stabbed to death in Southampton.

The body of Anita Bawtree, 34, was discovered after police were called to a 'domestic incident' at a flat in Paynes Road, Shirley in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

A post-mortem examination revealed she died from stab wounds.

A spokeswoman for Hampshire Police said Steven John Waters, of Napier House, Paynes Road, Southampton, has been charged with her murder.

He's due at Southampton Magistrates' Court today (21st April).
