Woman Left Unconscious After Southampton Burglary

A woman's been left unconscious while smoke filled her home in Southampton - following a burglary.

Police in Southampton are appealing for more information.

Shortly after 10:10pm on Wednesday 1 April, a woman aged in her fifties was assaulted by an intruder to her Edith Haisman Close home in Millbrook. When she came to her home was filled with smoke from unattended cooking and the fire service was also called.

The woman was not seriously hurt and was treated for bruising to her head and arms.

She described her attacker as:

- White.
- He was around 5ft 10ins tall.
- He was wearing a light jumper and possibly glasses.

A number of items were taken from her home, including; £900 cash, a laptop, a Kindle, a Samsung Galaxy tablet, and a terracotta coloured cabin bag.

Police are treating this as an isolated incident and anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area should contact PC Amanda Crutcher at Southampton Central police station by calling 101 quoting 44150110335.
