Men Bailed After Southampton Hit And Run

Police investigating the death of a woman in a hit and run in Southampton have bailed two men they were holding.

A 35-year-old woman pedestrian was knocked down by a Mercedes Vito at 10.50pm on Saturday night (25 April) on Tremona Road, near the General Hospital. The victim has not yet been named.

Yesterday (Monday 27 April) police arrested two local men, both aged 23.

In a statement today, Hampshire Police said:

"Police investigating the death of a 35-year-old woman in a road traffic collision on Tremona Road, Southampton on Saturday (April 25) have made two arrests.

"Two men from Southampton, both aged 23, have been arrested on suspicion of a number of driving offences and have been bailed until June 8 pending further enquiries.

"A vehicle has been recovered.

"We would like to take this opportunity to thank members of the public who have helped share our appeal over the past few days."
