Woman Charged With Murder

A woman's due to appear in court today charged with the murder of a relative.

Raj Binder Kaur, 35, is accused of bludgeoning to death 56-year-old Baljit Kaur Buttar, who it is believed had come from India to visit her family.

Emergency services were called to a house in Broadlands Road, Southampton, last Friday morning, where Mrs Buttar was found with severe head injuries. She died at the scene despite attempts to save her.

Kaur was one of four people initially arrested on suspicion of the murder of Mrs Buttar.

She is due to appear at Southampton Magistrates' Court this morning, Hampshire Police said.

A 30-year-old man also held on suspicion of murder has been released on police bail until April 27. Two other people have been released without charge.
