Police are appealing for information after a burglary at a student house in Winchester.
The house on Stanmore Lane was targeted sometime between 10.15pm and 2am, Thursday-Friday, September 15-16.
Someone broke in and stole four laptops, two TVs, a set of DJ decks, mixer and headphones.
DC Craig Robinson said: “The house is rented by students at Winchester University. It’s estimated that around £7,000 worth of goods has been stolen in this burglary.
“Some of the items are distinctive like a silver MacBook Pro with a small chip on the top right hand corner of the case, or the Panasonic Technics with black slipmats with white writing on, so I’d be interested in anyone who’s been offered them for sale.
“I’d also like to hear from anyone who may have seen someone acting suspiciously in the Stanmore Lane area at the time. Due to the size of the items taken, it is probable that more than one person was involved. A laundry basket was also taken, believed to have been used to move some of the items.
“With all the students starting out or returning at the moment, please make sure you’re home is as secure as it can be.
“If you’re moving into a shared home, away from your parents perhaps for the first time, think about checking the house and thinking like a burglar to see if there are any ways of breaking in and get your landlord to increase security.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Robinson at Winchester police station on 101 or the anonymous Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
