Police are appealing for information after a static road safety camera was stolen in Wellow.
The camera was located on the southbound A36 near Winwhistle Road.
It appears to have been cut from its post, possibly with a disc cutter, sometime between Wednesday, March 28 and Friday, March 30.
Sergeant Rik Grant from the Roads Policing unit at Totton said: “The Truvelo camera is worth approximately £40,000.
“If a disc cutter was used it would have generated a lot of noise, so I’d like to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt Grant at Totton police station on 101 or the anonymous Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
