Southampton Park Rape: Man Bailed
Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman said she was raped in a Southampton Park.
A man arrested over the attack has been released on bail while enquiries continue.
Detectives are investigating what happened in East Park in Brunswick Place shortly after 4am on Sunday, October 2nd, 2011.
The 20-year-old victim has told police she was walking alone through the park when she was approached by a man she did not know and that he then raped her.
The attacker is said to have a mixed race appearance with facial stubble. He was wearing a hooded top.
Police are not linking this case to any other sexual assaults in the city and extra patrols are being carried out in the area to reassure people and look for witnesses.

A 39-year-old man arrested in connection with the incident has been bailed until November 7th.
