Police are now in a position to confirm the name of the man who died in a single vehicle collision at Hurstbourne Priors near Whitchurch.
Cpl Nicholas Kerr, 30, from Jellalabad Barracks in Tidworth, Wiltshire was driving a silver Vauxhall Vectra along the B3400 towards Andover on Tuesday 25th October when the crash occurred shortly after 9pm.
For reasons yet to be established, Mr Kerr lost control of the car, which overturned and landed in a nearby river. He was declared deceased at the scene.
Officers are appealing for anyone who may have seen the crash or Cpl Kerr's car prior to it, to contact PC Jerry Byron at Whitchurch Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting Operation Sedgwick.
