Police Hunt BMX Rider
Police are investigating an attempted robbery on a 14 year old boy in Southsea.
It happened on Monday, November 26, some time between 6.30pm and 7pm.
The boy was riding his bike along Heidelberg Road, when he was threatened by a youth on a BMX bike. The youth demanded the boy hand over his bike and bag.
The victim managed to cycle away when the youth became involved in a minor collision with a car.
Shortly afterwards, the victim realised the suspect had followed him to Devonshire Square. No further threats were made and the victim managed to get away when the youth fell off his bike.
The suspect is described as:
White
About 15-20-years-old
Average build
About five feet 10 inches tall
At the time of the incident he was wearing a grey hoody, dark trousers and a black scarf across his face. He was riding a black BMX with white writing on the frame
DC Julie Way, who is investigating the incident, said: ''Police would like to speak with anyone who may have witnessed this incident, especially the driver of the car, which was involved in a minor collision with the bike in Heidelberg Road.''
