Marchwood Crash Death Biker Was 'Loving Husband'

A motorcylist, who died after a crash on the Marchwood By-pass, has been described as a 'loving husband and brother'.

56-year-old Paul Matthews from Dibden collided with a van on Saturday.

His family have thanked people who tried to save him.

Paul, of Caledonia Drive, was riding his Harley-Davidson when he was involved in a collision with a Mercedes Sprinter, at the Staplewood Lane junction with the A326, shortly after 10am on 8 September.

His family have paid tribute to him, saying: 

“We are truly devastated and numb having been given this news.

“Paul was a fantastic, loving husband and brother. He will be sorely missed by his family, friends and colleagues.

“We would also like to express our sincere thanks to those people who helped Paul at the scene.”

Investigations into the exact circumstances of the collision are ongoing.
