Man Attacked With Machete
A man's in hospital after being attacked by four men who broke into his Southampton flat, one armed with a machete.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the 24-year-old man was attacked at the property in Derby Road sometime between 6pm and 6.40pm on Sunday, June 5.
The flat was badly damaged during the incident, and a number of items of property stolen including a TV and a games console..
The victim is being treated for his injuries, which are not life threatening.
Officers do not believe this was a random attack and are now looking into what the motive might be.
They have been carrying out house to house enquiries in the area and looking at CCTV. They are also appealing for anyone who thinks they may have seen the men in the area before or after the
attack to contact them.
Regular patrols are also taking place in the area to offer public reassurance.
A weapon was recovered at the scene.
