Police in Havant think a house has been deliberately targeted in an arson attack.

Officers are appealing for information following the arson incident at an address in Middle Park Way, Leigh Park, near the junction with Woolston Road. It happened between 3 and 3.15pm on Sunday 22 December.

A lit rag was put through the letterbox. Shortly afterwards a lit carrier bag was put through the window.

Minimal damage was caused to the property and nobody was injured.

Detective Constable Michael Strangeway said:

“This type of offence is very rare. We believe this address and its occupants were targeted specifically rather than this being a random attack.”

Anyone with information about who may be responsible should contact DC Strangeway at Havant police station on 101. Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
