Football Fans Cause Trouble On Ferry

Police are looking into reports of trouble involving football fans on a ferry from Southampton to West Cowes on the Isle of Wight.
It's claimed there were threats and verbal abuse between Southampton and Birmingham City supporters on the 6.45pm Red Funnel Red Jet sailing from Southampton on Sunday, September 18, 2011. The two sides had played eachother earlier in the day, with Southampton winning 4-1.
There are also reports of the dispute continuing into the Red Jet terminal at West Cowes as fans were leaving the ferry.
Any witnesses or people with information are asked to contact Newport Police Station by phoning 101. Information can be given anonymously by calling the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
