Drinker attacked In Portsmouth Pub
Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted in a Portsmouth pub.
It happened at the Clarence Gardens pub, Kingston Road sometime between 5.30 and 5.45pm on Sunday, November 20.
A 52-year-old man was sitting in the patio area at the rear of the pub when he was assaulted by another man.
The man sustained bruising and swelling to his head and minor cuts.
PC Nick Jackson said:
“This appears to be a cowardly and unprovoked assault by a younger man on a decent hardworking man who was quietly enjoying a drink in his local pub.
“The pub was busy at the time of the assault and I would appeal to anyone who saw what happened to get in touch.”
Anyone with information should contact PC Jackson at Fratton police station on 101 or the anonymous Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
