A man has been charged after a car was repeatedly driven into a police custody suite in Chichester.
Sussex Police said the Nissan Micra was driven into the front of the police station “at least twice” at 2.40pm on Tuesday (26th April).
The incident caused extensive damage to the entrance to the building and firefighters were called to ensure it remained structurally safe and to stem leakage from the vehicle.
Sean Mitchell, 38, of no fixed address, has been charged with dangerous driving, drink driving, driving while disqualified, making off without payment and driving without insurance, a police spokeswoman said.
He will appear at Chichester Magistrates' Court today (28th April).
