Boy Seriously Injured In Gosport Hit And Run

An 8-year-old boy's been badly injured in a hit and run in Gosport.

He was knocked down by a car on Eastbourne Avenue at around 5.30pm yesterday evening (Tuesday 25 November). The driver didn't stop.

The boy's injuries aren't thought to be life-threatening.

Inspector Phil Hunt, from Fratton Roads Policing Unit, said:

"The collision happened in Eastbourne Avenue near the junction with Worthing Avenue.

"The child has sustained serious injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening.

"Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision but would particularly like to speak to the driver of the car involved, which is believed to have travelled on towards Brockhurst Road following the collision."
