Big Jobs Event In Portsmouth

300 job opportunities are up for grabs at event in Portsmouth.

A big recruitment day's happening today (27th September) at Cascades shopping centre, 15 employers will be there, from 10am to 4:30pm. 

There will be a mix of both permanent and temporary jobs available, and also the chance to speak to HR managers and other staff for tips on how to be a successful applicant.

Employers attending the event and looking to recruit include; TK Max, Primark, Affinion, Serco, Capita, Wetherspoons, Argos, Marriott, BHS, ToysRUs and the Hilton.

Jobcentre Plus will be on hand to give advice to anyone at risk of redundancy, with opportunities for jobs and apprenticeships. You'll also be able to get information on courses to increase your skills as well as financial, debt and benefit advice. 

Linda Taylor, employment initiatives manager, said: 

“Everyone is facing financial difficulties at the moment because of the economic climate and this event will get a lot of the community back into work again. “Last year’s event was a big success in finding work for residents and I hope that it can do the same this year. “A lot of people have the right skills and motivation but are struggling to get a job. This event is about giving everyone the chance to get back into work again”.
