Police are appealing for witnesses after a 17-year-old boy was attacked and robbed in Southampton.
The victim was in St James Park, Shirley at around 9.30pm on Friday, June 16 when two men came up to him.
He tried to run away from them but they caught up with him near the junction of Twyford Avenue and Colebrook Avenue. They pushed him to the ground and started punching and kicking him before threatening him and stealing his rucksack andBlackberry mobile phone.
They then made off in a car. The rucksack was later recovered nearby but a pair of headphones worth around £170 had been stolen from inside the bag.
Officers are now appealing for anyone who saw the incident or any suspicious vehicles in the area around that time to contact them.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Constable Dave Wheeler at Shirley Police Station on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
One of the robbers is said to be in his late teens and around 5ft 5 inches tall and the other in his late 20s and 5ft 8 inches tall with short light hair. They were both white.
It’s believed the victim was specifically targeted by the robbers and the attack is not thought to be random.
