10 Arrests After Gun Shots And Fight At Portchester

Ten people have been arrested after gun shots and a fight in the Portchester area, near Fareham.

Armed officers and the police helicopter were called to Portsdown Hill on Sunday evening (24 May).

Police are continuing to investigate following what they're calling 'a serious public order incident' at Portsdown Hill at around 5.20pm. Armed officers were deployed after receiving reports of a firearm being discharged.

Ten people were arrested in connection with the incident.
 
Five people have been arrested on suspicion of affray and released on police bail until 9 July.

- A 19-year-old man from Gosport
- A 19-year-old woman from Gosport
- A 22-year-old man from Fareham
- A 19-year-old man from Fareham
- A 24-year-old man from Fareham
 
A 26-year-old man from Havant has been arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of a firearm and is in police custody.
 
A 24-year-old man from Portsmouth has been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and is in police custody.
 
A 24-year-old man from Havant has been arrested on suspicion of affray and is in police custody.
 
Two people were released without charge.
