St Mirren are to vote against proposals to restructure the Scottish leagues.
All of the SPL clubs are due to vote next Monday on plans which could see the creation of two top divisons of 12 teams and a third of 18.
But the League Cup winners say that after "a very studied consideration" they are unable to support the motion.
It's also believed Ross County will vote against the proposals, meaning they cannot be implemented.
