A young boy has died while on holiday in Turkey, it has been reported.
Callum Salmond, who was a pupil at Strathallen Nursery in Kirkcaldy, Fife is understood to have died in an accident yesterday in Turkey, according to The Courier newspaper.
A spokeswoman for Fife Council said that a letter had been distributed to the parents of pupils at the nursery at the request of the boy's family but that the information had not been made public.
Headteacher Isabelle McBain wrote in the letter that Callum had died after a ``tragic accident'', The Courier reported.
A Foreign Office spokesman said: ``We are aware of the death of a British national in Turkey on 28 May. We are providing consular assistance to the family at this difficult time.''
