Paisley Stabbing Man Dies In Hospital

A man has died after being stabbed in a street in Paisley.

The 31-year-old was rushed to hospital following the attack in Tweed Avenue in the Renfrewshire town at about 11.20pm on Sunday but later died.


Police described it as a ''violent attack'' and said officers are working to hunt the ''despicable individual responsible''.

Forensic officers have been searching the scene and examining CCTV footage from the area.

Detective Superintendent Allan Burton said: ''A man has died following a violent attack which took place in the middle of the street and it is absolutely imperative that we trace the despicable individual responsible.

''I would appeal to anyone who was in Tweed Avenue, or the surrounding area, between 10.30pm and 12.30am last night to please come forward.

''No matter whether you think you have any significant information, let our officers determine that as you may be able to assist with the investigation.

''Anyone with information is asked to contact officers at Police Scotland's major investigation teams via 101 and quote incident number 4537/23.

''Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where details can be given in confidence.''
