New Full Body Scanners For Airport

New full body scanners are being introduced at one of Scotland's busietst airports next month.

Edinburgh airport bosses say the measure is part of government instruction and that it won't add to queuing time when they come in on september the 1st.

The technology works by detecting concealed threats or contraband and alerting security staff through an image which appears as a mannequin-style diagram on a small screen attached to the machine.

All images taken are deleted as soon as they have been assessed.
