A 27-year-old woman was assaulted in Dalkeith, Midlothian, as she made her way home from a night out on Sunday June 28.
Detectives say they are following a number of lines of inquiry but urged anyone yet to come forward with information to get in touch.
The attack happened after the woman got off a bus in Lauder Road at around 3.45am.
A man approached her and forced her into a wooded area between Lauder Road and Wester Kippielaw Drive.
Detective Inspector Scott Anderson said: "A month on from this assault I'd like people to think back to the evening of June 27 into the morning of the 28th and what they were doing.
"Anyone who was in the area might have information that could assist the inquiry and I would encourage you to make contact and speak with the enquiry team.
"What can often seem like a minor piece of detail can often prove to be absolutely crucial so, again, anyone who recognises the description or was in the area of Lauder Road on this particular evening is asked to get in touch.
"So far, the response we have received from the local community has been tremendous and I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has made contact with us and has assisted with our inquiries so far.''
The suspect is described as white, aged about 20, about 5ft 7in and of very slim build.
He has short dark hair and was wearing jeans and a shiny black top with a zip on the front.
Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
