A woman who went missing with her two young children dropped them off at a friend's home before disappearing again.
Farrah Fadli, also known as Farrah Gillespie, was reported missing from her home in Ayr, having taken her children, McKenzie Scullion, 10, and Eva Kerr, four, with her when she left, on Wednesday morning.
Following a police appeal saying officers were "very concerned'' at the 29-year-old's disappearance from her home in Thornyflat Drive, she dropped the children off at a friend's house in Irvine on Friday night.
The youngsters are now back with family in Ayrshire.
Police continue to appeal for information on Ms Fadli's whereabouts and say she has never gone missing before.
She is 5ft 4in and of slim build with dyed blonde hair. It is not known what clothes she was wearing at the time she disappeared.
A force spokesman said: "Farrah is still missing. She dropped off the children at a friend's house in Irvine around 7.15pm last night but left soon after.
"Police are continuing their search for Farrah and would appeal to either herself to get in touch with them or her family or for anyone who knows where she is to contact officers at Ayr Police Office via 101.''
