A man is in critical condition in hospital following an attempted murder in Glasgow.
The 34-year-old man was stabbed in an attack involving four men on Ashgill Road, Milton, at around 12.25am on Saturday.
He was taken by ambulance to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary. Medical staff said his condition is critical.
Police said the attackers were all white and in their 20s.
Detective Sergeant John Dowds, Greater Glasgow CID, said: "The injured man had just been dropped off by a taxi in Balmore Road near to Ashgill Street where it is believed he became involved in an argument with some people in the area.
"However, he made off into Ashgill Road where he was attacked by four men.
"He was very seriously injured with what was originally thought to be life threatening injuries. However, thankfully now he seems to be in a critical but stable condition.
"I have no doubt that a good number of people either saw or heard this attack take place. I would ask that anyone with information contact the CID at Maryhill Police Office via 101.
"If for any reason you are reluctant to speak to police, then please contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where details can be given in confidence.''
