A prisoner who escaped from custody during a hospital visit has been arrested.
Anthony Ferrie, who was an inmate at Addiewell prison in West Lothian, escaped from the grounds of St John's Hospital in Livingston on Thursday August 4.
Twelve days after the disappearance, Police Scotland confirmed that Ferrie, 33, has been traced near Glasgow.
He is expected to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
A police statement said: ''Extensive inquiries were undertaken within West Lothian and North Lanarkshire to trace Ferrie, who was subsequently arrested at an address in Bellshill.
''`The public are thanked for their assistance during this investigation.''
