There is nothing to suggest a link between sex attacks on two women in the same city, police have said.
Both women were subjected to serious sexual assaults in the early hours of the morning in Glasgow this month.
A 33-year-old was attacked in Edinbeg Avenue in the Toryglen area on May 10 while a 24-year-old was assaulted in Dixon Road in Govanhill on May 19.
Superintendent Brian McInulty said: "I understand that members of both communities may be worried following these assaults, however, I would like to take this opportunity to reassure the public that we have two teams of specially trained officers from the Rape Investigation Unit dedicated to these inquiries.
"Extensive inquiries are continuing and they are progressing with several lines being investigated. At this time there is nothing to suggest that these incidents are linked .
"I would like to thank the public for their help and support so far. Additional high visibility patrols are also in the areas and will continue. Anyone with any concerns should speak to an officer or call Police Scotland on 101. ''
He said officers were continuing to support both women. "Please do not assume that anyone else has told us what you know or that information you have might not be relevant to the inquiry,'' he added.
Police Scotland released CCTV images of two men that officers believe could help their inquiry into the Govanhill incident.
Detectives are appealing for the men in the images to contact police as it is believed they might have information that can help officers with their investigation.
