Fire At The Hydro In Glasgow

40 firefighters have been called out to flames near the roof of the new Hydro concert and Commonwealth Games venue in Glasgow

Five appliances attended, smoke was seen across the city skyline.

The 12,000 seat arena is due to open in September, Jessie J, Bruno Mars and JLS are all booked to play the Hydro later this year.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said the fire developed in the roof which is still under construction

Bosses at the Hydro have tweeted the fire was swiftly put out and an investigation’s started to determine the extent of the damage to the arena.

Noone was hurt.
