A 9 year old boy has been knocked down and killed on a busy road.
He was hit by a blue Ford C Max on the A90 - the main road between Perth and Dundee - near Longforgan, Perth and Kinross, at about 9.20pm yesterday.
Police said no other cars were involved and the road was closed while officers investigated the scene of the collision.
A force spokesman said: ''Police Scotland can confirm that a nine-year-old boy has sadly died following a collision on the A90 at Longforgan.
''The collision happened at around 9.20pm on Friday and involved a blue Ford C Max and the boy, who was a pedestrian. No other vehicles were involved and no-one else has been injured.
''Police have appealed to anyone who may have seen the collision to contact them on 101.''
