The body of a woman was yesterday morning near Bala, on the edge of Llyn Tegid.
Only a few hours into the new year, officers were called to an address in Llangower.
Temporary Superintendent Neil Harrison of North Wales Police said: “Our thoughts remain with the woman’s family and friends at this difficult time.
“A young man is currently helping us with our enquiries; however a forensic post mortem examination is scheduled to take place tomorrow to determine the precise cause of death and the Coroner has been informed.”
The property has been sealed off to allow forensic experts to examine the scene and enquiries are ongoing.
The woman’s next of kin have been informed.
