A brand new zombie apocalypse survival game is coming to Newcastle city centre in June.
The writer of 2.8 Hours Later has hinted to Capital they may look at adding an extra date here.
Demand for the game, where you have to complete missions around the city while being chased by zombie actors, has been so huge that all the tickets for the dates so far have sold out.
An additional date for the city was added this week, but it sold out again within hours.
At the moment there are five confirmed dates for the city: June 20th, 21st, 26th, 27th and 28th.
James Wheale is one of the writers of the game, which is also being held in Manchester, Sheffield and Cardiff.
Speaking to Capital about how popular the game is, he said:
"We've been talking about bringing it to Newcastle for a while now.
And this year it's gonna be the biggest one we've done, so we're really excited to be bringing the big guns out for Newcastle.
Our game does explore a lot of themes. It's not just being scared by a zombie coming out of the corner.
Last years' game dealt with the theme of immigration and this year it will be based around protests.
We added an extra date and that sold out as well.
We're looking logistically at the moment as to whether or not we can add any more additional dates.
But the response here has been overwhelming.'
James wouldn't give anything away about where inn Newcastle the event's gonna be held though:
"I'm afraid that is a closely guarded secret.
One of the exciting things is not knowing what location you're going to next.
In the past we've used the inside of shopping centres, multi storey carparks, entire office blocks and we're looking for some pretty big scale things again this year."
