Woman Killed By Van In Newcastle

A woman's died after being hit by a van in Newcastle.
It happened at 12:20am this morning, when police were called to a report that a van had collided with a pedestrian near to the Discovery Museum, Blandford Square, in the city centre.
Police and ambulance staff attended and the victim, a 41-year-old woman, was taken to hospital.
Despite treatment by the paramedics the woman sadly died as result of the serious injuries sustained during
the collision.
Enquiries are ongoing into the collision and officers are appealing for anyone who was in the area of Blandford Square this morning and who saw what happened to contact them.
Officers are releasing details of the victim's clothing in an effort to trace anyone who might have seen her or spoken to her in the hours before the incident.
She was wearing a distinctive bright pink top, pink trousers and pink shoes.
